Randomness...

Last week my mom and I took Oakley to the Tulip Festival in Woodland. My mom had noticed that there was a cute baby contest and whoever entered the best picture of their baby with the tulips would be on the cover of some gardening magazine. Unfortunately almost all of Oakley's pictures looked something like this:

As much as I love her I just have a good feeling that this is not the winning picture! Needless to say, I don't think I will be entering the contest! Oh well...we still had fun!

(Oakley's hair is not usually this out of control but it was really windy!)

Oakley's 1st haircut was long overdue. because of the way she sleeps she has gradually worn off only 1/2 of her mullet! Here are the before and after pictures:

Oakley was excited to be the first to sit in our new lawn chair!

She finally fit into her cherry dress that Grandma and Aunt Emily picked out for her!

Last night my siblings came over and we had a Mediterranean feast! we all tried new recipes and the food turned out amazing!

We finished off the night with our new favorite card game China 9. We were playing in teams and as you can see Tareak really wanted Leslie to draw a good card!

Have a great day!

Busy Week...

What a busy week! Here are a few pictures of what we have been up to...

Easter Sunday we were the nerdy matching family at church.

Instead of the traditional Easter dinner, we had a delicious Mexican feast in honor of Cam's 29th birthday. He was very excited to open presents and the rest of us were very excited for the Easter egg hunt! On Cams actual birthday (April 15th) my mom watched Oakley and we went to dinner at the Macaroni Grill. We finished off the night watching Iron Man. The only picture I got of the evening was so bad that I couldn't bring myself to post it...sorry. The important thing is that it was a great day!

The life of Oakley has been exciting as usual...she started sitting up!

She got a new high chair in preparation for solid food (2 more weeks!)

And we tried several times to take her for a walk but she absolutely hates the stroller! Just look at that evil grin...she knows that stroller was expensive and she is trying to punish me for it!

The highlight of my week arrived on Saturday. I have really been wanting a treadmill but it's not exactly in the budget. On Saturday I decided to look on craigslist. I found one for free because it was broken. Cam thought he might be able to fix it and we figured that we really had nothing to lose. He picked it up, brought it home, plugged it in, turned it on and it worked! This is by far the best free thing ever!

Have a great week!

The Story of the Sad Chubby Ballerina...

Oakley was invited to her very first birthday party this weekend. It was a ballet party so I made her a matching tutu and hair bow. Unfortunately, Oakley was not a fan! Here is a little preview of our morning...

Oakley: Are you serious mom, I look like a ballerina!
Oakley: I don't want to be a ballerina! You didn't even brush my hair!
Me: Oakley, if you stop crying I will fix your hair and you can chew on a piece of ribbon.

Oakley: Mmmm...Ribbon.
Me: I know Oakley, why don't you pose for the camera!

Oakley: If you make me do anything else, I will fight you...

Me: Oakley you can't get off the couch until you smile.

Oakley: Fine
Oakley: Happy?

Cutest Baby Ever!

I know she is mine, but I just can't get over how cute she is!

A Weekend with Grandma!

Last weekend we were able to make a trip up to Port Angeles. Oakley loved being able to see her Grandma Sue and Grandpa Mike. I must say...the 4 hour drive to get there with a 5 month old in the back seat was a lot worse than I had imagined! Poor Oakley...we think she is teething. she just hasn't been her happy self lately. As a result, she felt the need to share with us her feelings about the car ride the entire time. Thankfully this short drive was followed by a fun and relaxing weekend!

Here are a few pictures of our weekend. (Please note the amazing ocean view from their back porch. We love it here!) We couldn't have asked for better weather, it was beautiful! We ate good food, watched conference, sat in the spa, played some cards and of course, the little need machine aka Oakley got more attention than she knew what to do with!

Oakley really liked playing the Piano. After all the practice she got at Grandmas, we thought we would give it a try at home. Oakley's latest piece was so good she even moved herself to tears!

And here is one last picture just because it made me laugh!
